THE SHOW

|

Gringo
Driven the lonely road
Grip hold
Been in the rodeo
Live yo
Life you can only hope
It's all right
But the show it goes on
Time only goes one way
Live hard and fast I just can't wait for Sunday
K-os no way out waiting for the payoff
Before you facedown and you may not
Get back up to rap tough
anyone could say dumb shit but can you make an impact and shape
what your landscape looks like what are you made of
The world's a blank canvas take the paintbrush
Get on stage and crush what an amazing rush
But you waste your life being afraid of
what might be Unlikely manifest destiny
while the rest of the sheep follow the recipe
chef with the curry like Steph from the outside
Revolutionary better carry the clouds high
Town crier with some fire underground grime
Giving high fives to the sound guy
Gringo
Driven the lonely road
Grip hold
Been in the rodeo
Live yo
Life you can only hope
It's all right
But the show it goes on
Six thousand feet high and rising
Gringo staged a coup - and Lou is no longer driving
Anymore set the course for realignment
Mutinous mind Passenger turned pilot
Alter ego found the key hole
No Time for grief when the crowd came to see you
pound the beat through the soul of the people
The show it goes on no sneak preview
The goes on one shot no sequel
Plant the seed and the tree grew

THE TREES featuring AGES
03:21
|
|||
AGES
I got to say
there a lot ways I could be better
But listening to mama’s lectures
only got me fed up
So I sped up
Graduated soon as the credits was rolled
Time to direct my own flick like Sly Stallone
Rocky roads cocked block my flow
No one picked up my calling card
But I ain't fall that hard
back to the drawing board
Saw it all for what it's worth
First you a shooting star
Next thing, you falling back to earth
But gravity something we all had at birth
Had to nurse my wounds, and knuckle up with my daemons
Took a couple months,
but at once
odd seemed to be even
Found a squad I want to be in
and a broad I couldn't leave and,
before I knew it my baby started teething
Now we all healthy and eating
Welcoming another season
Knowing I could always fall for some odd reason
no God to believe, but still from far from a heathen
Don't know if I found myself but I found meaning
And in Brooklyn
That's enough to plant a tree in
GRINGO
I gotta say there's a lot of ways I could be better too
I never used to be able to handle being told what to do
Made more than a few mistakes that changed the course of my view
Some people need to learn the hard way some don't make it through
I been lucky that my choices haven't cost me too much
Just opportunities squandered all the smoke in my lungs
Led to notebooks of flows hooks composed
Magic
My chosen path a road block hopeless romantic
Locked and overloaded thoughts so prolific but stifled
creative but over analytical visionary with a blindfold
And time goes by so sly your young no worries
The Fire and fury so certain no need to hurry
Then on the wrong side of thirty you wake up early feeling burnt out
All the time in the world turned into the curtains coming down
Urgency and purpose emerging now you find meaning
And on the mountain top in Cali that's enough to plant a tree in

MUTINY
01:05
|
|||
I'm walking along listening to the dialog inside my own head.
Sometimes I agree with me.
Sometimes I think I'm just humoring myself so as to not rock my own boat, the good ship self-esteem.
As my own self-esteem boat captain it is my responsibility to see to it that my crew have the wherewithal to disagree with their commanding officer in the name of good advice when the situation calls for it.
When your ship is sinking, mutiny seems to be a much more appropriate reaction than enthusiastic solidarity, conformity and ultimately self destructive denial. Sometimes you have to capsize your own vessel.

OPEN ROAD
03:40
|
|||
And so it goes on this prolonged struggle
I ride the ghost ship
With the most of every minute raise a toast to the most lifted
Compose this digital prose a different disposition
Composition vision ever shiftin like the weather listen
I met a kid with message and tried to really hear it
On some spirit quest shit to really question appearance
The pressure to digest what's presented on your table True
weight on your chest we do the best with what we're able to
But the fables I'm told shake my whole foundation
use the music as movement wake the town From slumber
Wonder as I wander through the underground
Somebody tapped me on shoulder hold up turned around It was OSICS
With DOMOATIVE to motivate untrodden road to take Go the length hideaway with SOS' and smoke a J
FINESSE to rest my HEADCASE can't see the right path because the streets are paved missing LINK Open your
eyes and TYE up loose ends today
The rest Will fall in place history yet to be written
All the shapes shifting collectively to the rhythm
If I was religious I'd say heaven only knows
How the mission ends it just depends
And
So it goes on
go on
You got to hold your own
Hold on
Down the open road
Go on
Yes you got to hold your own
Hold on
Suspended disbelief 17 I had a friend on the street
Ran away from dad who beat him mom was a drunk out of reach
stayed with us a couple months we
Gave him something to eat
My mother Bought him shoes and loved him like a brother to me
We Took the bus to school and back not studious still we could do the math pass the doobie laughin bout smacking the ruling class
Shootin basketballs and rappin truly had a passion ill
4 trackin he put me on this path I travel still
Then one day he just disappeared vanished
With some money stolen from her took my mom's car and years passed
She cried tears imagining what might've happened to him never mad just wanted him to have a better chance than what he had
Maybe a decade later walkin in the Haight
I got stopped by some gutter punk bummin for change
I took a look at his face aged and over exposed
He shook my hand and hugged me saying over and over
So it goes on
So it goes on
go on
You got to hold your own
Hold on
Down the open road
Go on
Yes you got to hold your own
Hold on

(All the world's a stage
And all the men and women merely players
They have their exits and their entrances
And one man in his time plays many parts)
Double life
double standards
shake your fist Then Bow
down to the masters
Behind the scenes your pissed But
smile for the cameras
Activists and actors
Read the script try to understand your
Understudy to the money makers
glitz and glamour
Fit into the cast and
Smile for the cameras
Activists and actors (where you stand bruh)
GRINGO verse
I lead a life of tranquility a wife and three kids
The price of stability compromised convictions
I get a paycheck to pay rent and live in a system of oppression
And yes I know all of this
What to lose what to gain
What is worth the chance
At what point do you break
If you even have to choose
Then the choice is made
Only when we're forced to change
A stance will be taken
So we get mad and rage at the racist shit that happens
Imagine we can fix injustice with a band aid
But the damage been done point of no return passed
It's too late for negotiations and false handshakes
So we wait point break like swayzee
For the wave to crash
Playing our parts in the production
Til the fade to black
Through the stained glass
remain the Devil's advocates
Play the game Actors and activists
Double life
double standards
shake your fist Then Bow
down to the masters
Behind the scenes your pissed But
smile for the cameras
Activists and actors
Read the script try to understand your
Understudy to the money makers
glitz and glamour
Fit into the cast and
Smile for the cameras
Activists and actors (where you stand bruh)
LINKO verse
I rehearse each verse till monologues get dispersed
Playing a part but hardly part of the worst
Burst with purpose but apathy always gets worse
Act the part played the game till I quit the job first
Unemployed in the void but I fixed it where I solved
Split it to discard, pills in liquid but they made me different study under the falls honest
Like my eyes never existed, i exited for a minute came back
With new vision, making movies like Scorcese with rhymes written
Cut to exterior night on roof tops
Dialogue marches while friends harbor the truth lost
Montage of violence tridents flying dissolve
Into the summer i’ve been running from being where I wanna be at any cost
Green lit check the budgets Fading to nothingness bubbling smoke till i’m much numb er
Comfortable now edit takes and pick a number
Never waited in line rip the mask off
Settle the score scanner darkly till the roto stops
Active in passing the major moves onto another
Direct actors till scenes are right so the truth we might discover

DOMO verse
Lyrical slaughter heads will never be ready so why do I bother , ruthless thoughts that I ponder. Time flies by it seems lately that I'm getting fonder funnel the inner vision point it at your sons and daughters.
Blue dream cones with keef sprinkles let's me know I'm not alone we all seem equal . But it's not the truth the world Regal, fabricated in a booth it's unbelievable. Unreachable as it is free your proof of character is all you need to move on to better things while I figure out who's filmin me . Making me tick your local avatar is making me rich. Continue down the path and it's making me sick! Concious is pissed off at the ego man controlling bodies, ain a demon But he'll try to stop me unstable mc labeled Rare breed HANROW what need to fight the evil energy
. enenemis in a deep sea slumber need a new way to breathe if im stayin down under good day mate or should I call you Patna . Either way it's a koala not a bear , the point of that is so your aware , things aren't what they seem at first stare , Didn't spell the message out but the facts are there. Go ahead sit back relax act likeyou don't fucking care..... Wasting time on wannabes n wallabies what is the difference when the best is lowest quality
(Chorus)
demons only lead us into sorrow
Need to seek out the righteous
I see a bright tomorrow we might just
Follow the light. Find better way
Follow The light.
demons only lead us into sorrow
Need to seek out the righteous
I see a bright tomorrow we might just
Follow the light. Find better way
Follow The light. Dedicated
GRINGO verse
Unbelievable feet my only carriage and I need to go
freedom the goal but demons hold me won't leave me alone
breathin slow faces lookin like they seen a ghost scenic
road traveler flow babbler throwback of the old
type a rapper whole package control damage
Roll the cabbage coleslaw take a pull and pass it
Domo got the match lit we light the torch and run
usain bolt status on the track we're number 1 but
fuck your podium and fuck the olympics fuck Corruption money spent on the wrong shit Children
starving and they're building multi million dollar stadiums
So we can watch it and pretend it's all good fucking craziness
Shadiness bread and circus got my head hurting
beneath the surface of earth I see the demons lurking
Bursting bubbles sorry to scribble on your perfect picture
all the colors like a little kid to get that certain mixture
Now it's a mud puddle i call it realism
Nothing subtle or appealing when you feel friction. But most believe
fiction rather than read into
things too uncomfortable for them to wanna deal with it
brings The strongest of us to our knees this disease
Denial by the people is the reason that keeps us
From seizing back our freedom from elites that we trust
Need justice and to teach love cause
demons only lead us into sorrow
Need to seek out the righteous
I see a bright tomorrow we might just
Follow the light. Find better way
Follow The light. Dedicated
To Love to rise above the madness
Love the only real advantage that we have it's
Love the flying dove above the anguish
Love the light the fight. We can take this

THE BATTLE
01:13
|
|||
Flashes of pastures greener grasses dashed Up in smoke to ashes see the passage of the dreamers crash
Into the real world and the sea gulls all laugh or scream
Blood curdling cries people pass by without an eye blink
To think that there might be some meaning Behind the cackle of crows the jackal it throws its head back and howls
The battle is lost but the war goes on

DIRTY BIRD

Division and conquest
They've Come a long way since JFK Martin and Malcolm and I'm not talking race relations but about how they squash they're problems. assassination is now public execution by death squads no marytrs they're much smarter now blame the victum and the cause
Infiltrate like Trojan horse cut support before you make it
who the fuck your think is bucking cops at peacefull demonstrations
Character assassination of the black lives matter movement don't let em gather enough attention from sympathetic humans
Before you demonize em make the people choose between black rights and a policeman's life
As if you can only be on one side unbelievable how fundamentally dumb people will run with it
Point the finger at another political group as if it makes some difference
fuckin idiots blamin the liberal media or conservaturds
No left and right in this oligarchy just two wings on a dirty bird
But do we learn well not quite but we can't stop no not yet
cops got less in common with the men on top then the black men shot dead
Just gotta point their guns in the right direction
wake up and smell the manipulation
just gotta point the guns in the right direction
game theory the power hungry got us all playin ourselves
Division and conquest division and conquest The oldest trick in the book and you're still falling for this nonsense
Division and conquest division and conquest
Whether race, class or religion it goes on and on and on
Dem Politicians they got a lot to say
and they would do what they need to do so they remain
On top of the food chain with a bottomless plate
Ready to consume anything that moves into their way
They say television going to rot your brain
Do anything for views and to get paid
Don't sell your soul now don't be afraid
To drop everything you don't need and break away
Idiocracy - talking is cheap
To really walk on the hot coals - to listen and reach
is the reason we exist to teach people uplift and have the feeling reciprocated it's the real mission in life
but we envision these pretty little packages
white picket fence -skinny women - fat asses and
entitlement to luxury American dreamin
Competing for a piece of the pie instead of teamin up
Fuck no we don't provide for everybody
We Overfeed the obese to leave the rest of us hungry
Fascist pigs would get a fantastic ass kicking
If the masses would ever get past these superficial divisions
and rise up
|
||||
10. |
||||
Only we can stop them now
GRINGO verse
Proud the people we shout the leaders down a spiral staircase to hades and maybe we take back the crown
Rain dance til the ground floods laid plans-foundations to break these massive chains and grab the reins we were born to run
Looking towards the sun foreheads full of worry
I see the ancient glory of the ones that stood before me
In the wrinkled eyes of elders and the cries of the mothers
They tell us stories of conquest and the price of the plundering
And the lives and the love despite the crimes And the bloodshed
Not a jester for the master blindly accepting injustice
I'm the truth a thorn in the side of deception
A tooth ache in the mouth of the dinosaur of oppression
Indigestion in the belly of the beast to incite the rise of
The time of Consciousness has begun to unify us we'll
Return this beautiful land back from the hands of a few to all of mankind and continue fight for what's true
(Chorus)
Backs to the wall path we deserve to ride down
Passing the point of no return we'll find out
Who's got capacity to stand and who lies down
Is this the crash and then burn or can we climb out
Only we can stop them now
OSICS verse
The power lies within the individuals,
the universe's highest masters grant wishes of the spiritual
need my energy to combine with yours, mission's too critical
to believe in a system where the leaders never wanna reveal what’s true
you don’t need eyes to see the scams they running past us
our ancestors are different from their ancestors ours blessed us
with perseverance and strength to overcome hateful gestures
we just have to make sure that the efforts are for a better us
I look in the mirror ask what am I doing for my people
to protect them all from evil,
I can’t protect them all so how I do equip who I reach how do I teach em the ways to use the weapons to defend their dignity and pride without preaching long speeches
but there’s so much memory erased we got a long way to go back
to distinguish millenniums of existence built on lies from the facts
no real education in class only told how we're supposed to act
gotta get our lives back on track before our lives fade to black
(Chorus)
Backs to the wall path we deserve to ride down
Passing the point of no return we'll find out
Who's got capacity to stand and who lies down
Is this the crash and then burn or can we climb out
Only we can stop them now
DOMO verse
Same shit different day struggle heavy options blocked
different poison everyday Poppin off
causing deadly routes to take too many bills to pay
so will we make it out or have to stay,
Inside this tomb to die the pharohs proved
there's more to life than what you call it
ballin ain't the way you wanna live
your days you fallin out of touch with broken promises
n empty statements Time to rise above these painstakingly perpetuating payments to the lamest cats
that run lives with monetary bribes
it's obviously basic to describe this type of corruption this type of destruction this type of consumption as the reasons to whyyyy Im so Reluctant to trust the government
brothers stuck in section 80 hope the 1% are loving it I'm done it
the pub a lic is rio ting better buzz back with peace offering
I know that we are frightening but quiet please
this is your enlightening I'm coming down like
lightening to lighten up your minds n let you know that
Domo more than yolo but I could never do it solo . Plur

Yo what it do Yung fle
We keep it true gringo
From the west to the east
Wherever you call home
Yes to each their own
Through the ups and downs
We Speak these poems to make the world go round
Yo what it do gringo
We keep it true Yung fle
From deep in our souls
Come these words we say
All day everyday
Through the ups and downs
We Speak these poems to make the world go round
GRINGO verse
Call us the messengers effortless flow
Gringo Starr and young fle to save the day and pave the road
Make away we're taking over like the people's revolt
making waves call me Captain stubing on this love boat
Bolt of lightning quick when I hold the mic and rip shit
Terminal illness with the Realness but you can't catch this sickness
common cold rappers spreading wackness like an epidemic if there's a cure for this then call a medic
Never know where I'm headed but yes I know where I'm from
State Golden like the setting sun flow second to none how the west was won with a pen not gun I reckon A step in the right direction don't get ketchup on your bun
Hotdogs can't cut the mustard I relish without a doubt when bratwurst pop jerks get devoured hold the sauerkraut
What good's a Louder mouth with nothing to say
Now your clamming up like a chowder house or a lesbian parade hey
Yo what it do gringo
We keep it true Yung fle
From deep in our souls
Come these words we say
All day everyday
Through the ups and downs
We Speak these poems to make the world go round
Yo what it do Yung fle
We keep it true gringo
From the west to the east
Wherever you call home
Yes to each their own
Through the ups and downs
We Speak these poems to make the world go round
YUNG FLE´ verse
Sup homie, I'm doing good bro..
Oh snap, that's awesome man.. looking forward to that homie, yeah I'll put them in here man.. hope you good too dawg.
My Verse:
From the west to the east, it's Gringo & Yung Flé about to set the pace with this masterpiece//
Only the beginning, every stop closer is a notion of winning// tryna break the box of complacency into a prism//
I'm not subjected to the standards I set them much higher//
Through the glass and through the pain you can see the wires//
On a narrow path of success I'm burning up the tyres//
All the blood sweat and the tears you can hear the desire//
And even through the fire we culminate our disposition//
Using our poetry in motion to evoke your feelings//
Elevating from the ground looking to the ceiling//
Only spreading love in the world cause we're tryna heal it//
All the carnage and the violence only makes it worse//
there's nothing worse than seeing your best friend in a hearse//
And if it hurts then you can understand about the change//
Gringo & Flé another chapter in this rap game//

SOS' verse
I heard it's hard to hit a moving target.
Even into the wind, but I did. Now I'm bully the kid, we gon make a movie off it.
Everything I write is deep, I'm talkin 6 feet sitting in coffins.
El presidente, I'm coming into the office.
Showin the margin, told y'all to proceed it with caution. You don't really want it, I do it everyday. grinding like I'm down on some 3 to 1 shit.
Me and Gringo gon show em the lingo. Shouts to Osics for the link up,
my state golden just watching the team grow.
Niggas already wanting beef and I'm cool I got full off the meat loaf.
I mean I'm not scared, I'm chillin.
It all counts till the amounts in the millions.
Then I don't care what you say, or what you do. Or who in yo crew or how y'all feeling.
I'm amped wishing they could keep up. If I ain't killed already, Imma find away.
Murk a beat a day, and just hide away.
GRINGO verse
From out the woodwork hood to the suburbs
The good the bad the ugly vultures to lovebirds
Come the wordsmiths dopest you never heard kids
The most absurd send your ass to church versus
Soul-searching till the closing of the curtain
Broken is the system man I'm hoping for the hurting
Certain that it's getting worse before it's getting better
So ahead of the curve were setting trends for the trendsetters
But never getting credit underground like coal miners
Old timer still get it lit like controlled fires
A bullfighter stabbing cattle with my battle ax
Matador rapper attacking actors with their saddle backwards
Guerrilla warfare I'll be the leader
Fidelity Castro here to unify the people
Mobilize educate get you aim right
Until were ready to strike will be hiding in plain sight

Life goes fast and you catch yourself askin
Questions that do not have answers we're grasping
For memories, energies passed times of laughter
Can it just last a little longer
But gone in a flash of light, crash of waves fascinated falling rain at a loss for language
Dried up but saturated cost of anguish
Times up evaporated thoughts are vanquished
Tossed and turned, burned to ash we're forced to seek
Souls to search for the strength to keep
Stumbling on with our heads up and our best foot
Forward through the darkest of days we accept good
With the bad news, why nows, what have yous
Gratitudes for time spent acting like damn fools
Can't lose for winning, open water swimming with sharks
Open bottles, closed doors and broken hearts
Rest in power brother catch you on the other man
I love your son as much as his mother and I can
This I promise that I'll never give up
Your presence lives forever in us

So far removed from who I once was,
I stand a man, Sand castles built upon the foundation of the boy I started as.
Dusty roads, worn-out old soles of shoes show age.
Salt and pepper crown upon my head and Proud lines In my face displayed like tattoos or badges of honor.
Plumage.
Legs might be tired but they walk with more conviction then their youthful predecessors.
